This event is part of the Panda Innovation series that is focusing on exploring international collaborations, especially the collaboration opportunities between Asia and UK in London’s tech sector. Through this event we are seeking to provide a platform to connect UK policy makers, startups and investors in fashion industry and to discuss the opportunities for an international growth in this industry. The event is organised by Cocoon Global, Panda Dream and Ying De Group. This event will promote a 2 million investment opportunity from Yingde Group.

Prof Yu Xiong

Chair of London Fashion Fund

Professor Yu Xiong is the Chair of Technology and Operations Management in Newcastle Business School of Northumbria University, during this appointment, he took other responsibilities including co-Director of North East Innovation Observatory (Led by North East Local Economic Partnership), Director of Enterprise Engagement etc. He has a PhD degree in Computing Engineering and BSc degree in Computer Science. His research focuses on technology innovation and supply chain strategies in global context.


Wendy Hammett MBA FRSA

Co-Founder of London Fashion Fund & Fashion industry Advisor

Developed the London Fashion Fund from 2017 , launching 30th July 2019, with over 30 years of high-level strategic experience within the international fashion & designer sector, leading London’s Incubator for leading fashion designers and fashion tech entrepreneurs into international markets for 10 years, and established it firmly within the London Fashion Economy. Awarded an MBA in 1996, the Fellowship of the Chartered Society of Designers in 1996 and Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts in 2012, she has consulted to developing fashion economies in Istanbul and Jakarta and also advised the European Commission DG Enterprise and Industry on UK small fashion designer businesses (SMEs).


Mr Bing Han

Director at Ying De Group

Over ten years’ experience of investing in UK companies, an expert of cross border investment collaborations. Ying De Group facilitates investment to more than 150 UK companies each year.


Jun Seki

Co-founder of Poq & Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech

After encountering his co-founder in India, Jun jumped on the opportunity, left Australia, and became the tech co-founder of Poq, a startup in London making it possible for enterprise retailers to sell on mobile devices using their own branded applications built on Poq's platform. Poq has raised £9.5 million in Series B funding in 2018. Leading the round is Smedvig Capital, with participation from previous backers Beringea, and Revolt Ventures. It brings the total amount raised by Poq to £16.5 million since the company was founded in 2011.


Dr. Tao Xu

Managing Director of Yitu Technology UK

He leads a team to explore the EU market for diversed public security and commercial scenarios, bringing the best AI technology to the real world. YITU is considered as the best AI unicorn in the world, which won first place in four categories, in the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) organized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). YITU won the first Place in Identification Accuracy In Face Recognition Prize Challenge (FRPC) 2017 hosted by the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA).


Celine Zhang

The Executive Chairman of Europe-China Economic & Cultural Development Center.

She has served as the cultural brand consultant of her family business for many years, and has participated in the design of high Fashion brands in China and Europe. She is response for organizing international art exchanges and interactions. Her best-selling book European Revealed, first published in London, is recommended by the European Union economist and the British Museum curator. She has been incited to Australia, Africa, Asia, America and other countries for book singings.


Adam Peacock

Founder of the Genetics Gym project.

Adam Peacock is a Post-Disciplinary Artist, Designer and Consultant and Founder of The Validation Junky, an experimental lens on how technology is changing who we aspire to become though brands and products. Adam is an Associate Lecturer of Design Strategy and Future Related Design at London College of Fashion, MA Fashion Futures (2015-), and co-runs an experimental fashion- architecture studio for Master of Architecture at The University of Melbourne (2019-). Adam has designed for Heatherwick Studio, WilkinsonEyre and Amanda Levete Architects, worked on strategic-design projects with Stella McCartney, Lyst, Audi and FIAT, awarded Artist in Residence at the Visible Futures Lab, School of Visual Arts NYC (2015-16), 2016 Designer in Residence at the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion UAL, and the 2018 Robert Garland Treseder Fellowship at The University of Melbourne. The most recent output under his studio’s experimental lens, Genetics Gym was featured in a 2018 BBC iPlayer documentary on DNA & Beauty, and, presented as the opening keynote speech at the 2018 Product Innovation Apparel conference in Milan, ’Genetics & AI - What we can now learn about our consumers that will enable more successful & impactful products?’. Originally exhibited at the Fashion Space Gallery (2017), Genetics Gym has been exhibited in Science Gallery Melbourne for PERFECTION (2018), and Science Gallery Dublin for PERFECTION (2019)


Marianna Ferro

Founder and CEO of Flair Atelier

She has lived and worked in Europe, South America and Asia. Her first work experience was in fashion e-commerce before starting a career in finance, as a sales trader for international banks, private equity advisor and in international development, focussing on financial intervention. She has been an ambassador for Acumen Fund and a mentor for Virgin Start-Up. She holds a BSc and MSc in Business Administration and Finance from Milan’s Bocconi University and an MSc in History from the London School of Economics. She is the founder and CEO of Flair Atelier, a platform that enables each woman to customise online garments that reflect her style and fit, with a new sustainable production model.


Yi-Ling Kuo

The founder of 1x1Studio

Yi-Ling Kuo was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and graduated from Fashion textiles in Knitwear at London College of Fashion. After graduated, she worked at Mary Katrantzou, Julien Macdonald and Acorn Textiles at Knitwear team in UK, She later won the FDC Young designer Award, presenting her first presentation in New York in May 2017. In 2017 Yi-Ling Kuo started her own label, 1x1 Studio, the contemporary luxury lifestyle brand, 1x1 Studio creates 3D playful textures in knitwear and to aim of bringing out a new texture world of fashion cycle, doing collaboration with talented designer to give new horizons of every new collection. In her art and fashion work, Yi-Ling uses the recycled materials, specialist yarns and crafted techniques to awareness of undiscovered territories. In 2019, she won the Ones to Watch Award with Fashion Scout to showcasing her AW19 collection in London Fashion Week, Also, she has been invited to showcasing her works in Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology on 2019 April. 1x1Studio showcased SS20 collection as presentation on London Fashion Week Mens 2019 June.


Lu Zhou

Founder of Seaweed Wonderland

She has 7 years of work experience in Banking, financial investment, high-end brand apparel, brand strategy and marketing before starting the sustainable seaweed fabric nightwear brand--Seaweed Wonderland. Her business was the winner of the £5000 prize Social Enterprise category of the 2019 Creative Enterprise Awards held by the University of the Arts London. She also participated in the Paris Premiere Vision Exhibition, reached the semi-finals of the London Mayor's Entrepreneur 2019 Competition, shortlisted at the Crafting Tomorrow’s Luxury: Kering x Plug and Play Sustainable Innovation Award. She was a guest seaweed artist and Poster Speaker at the 23rd International Seaweed Symposium.


Amy Chao

Design + Digital Strategist

Creative and tech connector as design and digital consultant with background across fashion, tech, retail & travel in startups, global companies and as entrepreneur across Europe, U.S. & Asia. Part of TLA (Tech London Advocates) Retail Tech team facilitating industry dialogue between startups, experts and practitioners on digital innovation and supporting London as a centre of retail tech innovation. Previously lead design and product strategy with Asia product development and manufacturing experience for founder of Kathy Van Zeeland fashion lifestyle brand acquired by Li & Fung. Experienced in London startup ecosystem as Chief Creative at street-smarts navigation app Safe & The City part of Plexal’s first Plexiglass female accelerator cohort, fashion strategy consultant for Appaparel connected clothing app MVP development part of True portfolio, and judging panel for Echo Fashion++ accelerator.
